On April 13, New York State Police conducted a Distracted Driving Enforcement Detail. They conducted this detail in three different towns in New York. These towns were Town of North Salem, Town of Somers, and Town of Lewisboro.

This detail was being done in connection with “Operation Hang Up.” This operation is looking to decrease the number of accidents related to distracted driving in New York. Cops are cracking down on motorists who are driving while using their cell phones or other electronic devices.

During the detail, the police issues over 43 tickets. Of those 43, 15 of the tickets were issued to people who were using their cell phone while driving.
