On March 15, 2018, a Cohoes man died after a collision on Waterford Bridge. The man was 38-years-old. He died after a head-on collision that occurred on the Cohoes-Waterford Bridge on a Thursday morning.

The collision happened at around 5:42 a.m. This information comes from Mayor Shawn Morse. The car was going southbound on the bridge when it collided with a truck that was going northbound on the bridge, the mayor said.

The reason why the vehicles hit each other is not known. An accident reconstruction team is still working to piece together what happened and the details of the incident.

The bridge had to be closed for a time. But, it did reopen after a few hours. The cause of the collision is being investigated by the Cohoes Police Department as well as the New York State Police Accident Reconstruction Unit and the Albany County District Attorney’s Office.
