In the Bronx, an 8-year-old boy was hit by a minivan while being taken home from school on Monday night. The boy was killed in the accident. The police are calling this incident a heartbreaking accident.

The accident occurred in the 900 block of East 215th Street at around 6 in the evening. The child has been identified as Cellou Daiollo.

According to officials, a family friend was backing the van up when the child was hit.

A neighbor, Beverly Taylor, had this to say about the accident, “I saw the little boy, he was just standing there and the car was parking and just hit him, hit him out of nowhere.”

According to neighbors, the female driver was a family friend who was taking the child home.

The driver is said to be cooperating with investigators. She is said to have told them that the car went out of control.

It is unclear at this time why Diaollo was not in the car at the time of the incident.

While the police are still investigating, it does not look like the driver will be charged for what happened.
