A Car Drives Into a Classroom in Upstate NY

At the end of March, a driver drove into a classroom located in Upstate New York at an elementary school.

A 22-year-old many from Schenectady is now facing a felony charge after he crashed his car into the elementary school. The school in question was Martin Luther King School, and the incident is said to have occurred around midnight.

Luckily, no one was in the classroom at the time.

The students at the school got a day off because the crash damaged an art classroom and a fifth-grade classroom.

Structural engineers were brought in to assess the safety of the building. Parts of the building remain closed as work on the repairs has been going on.

The driver was Estevon Tirado. He blew through a stop sign and hit into the school, and he then fled from the scene but police found him nearby. He is facing several criminal charges.
