Update on JFK Multi-Vehicle Crash
Another update on the large, multi-vehicle crash we have reported on already. This crash involved five vehicles and resulted in a pile-up near the JFK airport. This was a significant crash that claimed the lives of two people and caused serious injury to five more people.
The vehicle that caught on fire was a sedan. The two people who were killed were in the sedan. They became trapped in the vehicle as it burst into flames. Emergency responders had to remove them from the vehicle, but they were not able to save them.
Medics at the scene took the give other victims to nearby hospitals. Two other people at the scene refused to have medical attention. The conditions of the other five victims are still not known, but we will keep you updated as more information on this tragic crash comes in.
According to Detective Lt. Richard LeBrun, “It is very early in the investigation, but homicide detectives are interviewing individuals in regards to the possibility that they were DWI.”
