The accident occurred at 25th Avenue and 85th Street on Wednesday, March 2, at approximately 3:45 p.m. According to witness accounts, a motorist in a white sedan was attempting to turn on to 85th Street when his vehicle struck a 70-year-old man on a scooter. The motorist then left the scene of the accident.
Victim Transported to Hospital

A witness later told a reporter that the car allegedly sideswiped the scooter. She said that she herself had to jump back to avoid being hit.
Alleged Hit-and-run Motorist Sought
The investigation at the accident site continued for hours as the scooter and the victim’s personal belongings remained on the ground. Police were looking for a male motorist and a vehicle described by witnesses as a white sedan.
When a person suffers injury in a hit-and-run accident, it is important that law enforcement locate the perpetrator so that the motorist and his insurer are held accountable. When negligent conduct leads to injury, it is possible to file a civil lawsuit that seeks compensation for various losses, including, but not limited to, pain and suffering, certain medical expenses and possible lost wages.
