Update: Long Island City Fire Injures 8

This story is an update on a story that we posted about earlier this week. At least eight people have been injured in a fire that started in Queens on Tuesday night. Officials say that they got a call at around 8:30 in the evening about a fire that was blazing on the first floor of a four-story building. Police have been asking for the public to help them identify a man who was seen walking next to a house fire in Spring Valley earlier this month. They have found through their investigation that a fire set in a vacant home on Decatur Avenue was intentionally set. Father of Yorkville Fire Victim Files Notice of Claim

The father of a girl who died in a house fire in Oneida County in January has filed a notice of claim against the village and the volunteer hose company. The father’s lawyer said on Tuesday that if a different dispatch call had been made that possibly Taylor Melanie and Heather, her mother, would be alive today. The fire happened on January 18 in Yorkville. Officials reported that the roof caved in while firefighters were fighting the fire. Taylor, who was 7 at the time, died in the blaze. 2 Teenagers Accused of Starting Fire in Auburn

Two teenagers have been arrested and charged because of a large fire that caused damage to a vacant building on Perrine Street in Auburn. The police said witnesses saw the teenagers leaving the building just before the fire was reported. The teenage boys, both of them from Auburn, were found on Clark Street Road. They were both interviewed and then charged. Their names and photographs are not going to be released because they are minors. Fire in Canandaigua Still Being Investigated

A barn located at Gibson Street in Canandaigua was marked as a complete loss after a structural fire that happened overnight. The fire was reported in the area of Wood and Gibson Streets at first. The barn was situated between many homes and was just a few blocks away from Sonnenberg Gardens, but, luckily no homes were damaged in the blaze. It also appears that no one was injured in the fire.
