Update: Bronx Fire Destroys 7 Businesses
This story is being updated from yesterday when we initially reported on it.
A large blaze in the Bronx took out several businesses. This happened on Tuesday morning, and the information comes from the FDNY. There were no injuries reported.
The fire started at around 5:30 in the morning inside 316 E. 194th Street in the Fordham Manor part of the Bronx. The fire grew quickly. It started as a two-alarm fire but after just fifteen minutes it was a five-alarm fire.
Firefighters are reported to have come across heavy fire and smoke conditions. The fire was impacting all seven stores in the building when the firefighters got to the scene.
Firefighters were able to get the fire under control at about 9:20. This information also comes from the FDNY.
The businesses were totally destroyed in the fire.
The fire is still being looked into. At this point, the cause of the fire is not known. If more information about this fire becomes available, we will keep you updated.
