When a person suffers injury in a hit-and-run accident, it is important that law enforcement locate the perpetrator so that the motorist and his insurer are held accountable. When negligent conduct leads to injury, it is possible to file a civil lawsuit that seeks compensation for various losses, including, but not limited to, pain and suffering, certain medical expenses and possible lost wages.
