Car Crashing into Scaffold in Harlem Causes Injury to Three People

Three people were injured and had to be sent to the hospital Tuesday afternoon of March 27th, 2018 after a car hit a scaffolding. This incident occurred on a street in East Harlem, according to officials.

The crash happened in front of 2382 Second Avenue which is next to the corner of East 122nd Street. This accident happened at about 1:30 p.m., according to police and fire officials who were at the scene. Emergency responders arrived at the scene soon after and moved three people to Harlem Hospital.

The three people who were injured did not have life-threatening injuries, according to an FDNY spokesperson. But, the extent and severity of their injuries was unknown.

Police shut down Second Avenue between East 122nd and 125th after the incident occurred. Inspectors will be looking into the building and its structural stability since the scaffolding has been hit.

Because of the crash, parts of the scaffolding landed on the sidewalk. The vehicle that hit the scaffolding was reported to be a white van.
