25-Year-Old Injured as Truck Crashes Into Mosholu Parkway Wall

Bronx, NY (June 27, 2026) – A 25-year-old man sustained minor injuries after a motor-vehicle collision near Mosholu Parkway and Marion Avenue in the Bedford Park section of the Bronx, the NYPD confirmed. One person was placed under arrest at the scene.

Police received a call regarding the collision at around 6:15 p.m. on June 27, according to a department spokesperson. The injured man was transported to a local area hospital. Which hospital was not disclosed by the spokesperson.

At the scene, a truck was seen crashed into a parkway wall about 15 feet from the intersection of Marion Avenue and Mosholu Parkway. A silver sedan was also found crashed on the center median and was later towed away. Efforts to remove the truck from the wall required a larger tow vehicle, as it was suspended approximately 20 feet and hanging over the interior park side. Police later confirmed the truck driver was taken to the NYPD Highway Division to be tested for possible intoxication.

Residents in the area told reporters they heard a loud bang but did not witness the crash. One resident noted there are often children inside the park on weekends, and another said elderly residents typically sit on a bench near the crash site.

This is a developing story. Details may change as the investigation continues.

A crash that sends someone to the hospital and ends with an arrest leaves more than one question unanswered. Understanding what happened and who is responsible takes time and evidence.

Car Accidents Involving Possible DUI Drivers in the Bronx, NY

When a driver is removed from a crash scene for intoxication testing, New York law provides avenues for injured occupants of other vehicles to pursue compensation regardless of what happens in any parallel criminal case. A civil claim runs on a separate track from an arrest or prosecution.

  • See a doctor today, even if your injuries appear minor at first. Internal injuries and soft-tissue damage often surface in the hours after a crash, and a same-day medical record protects your claim
  • Do not speak to any insurance company without first consulting an attorney. Adjusters contact injured people quickly, often before a full picture of fault has emerged
  • Preserve evidence: photos from the scene, witness contact information, and any documentation of the vehicles involved all have value early in a case
  • Do not accept any settlement offer before speaking to a lawyer. Initial offers rarely reflect the full cost of an injury

New York follows a pure comparative fault standard, meaning that even if investigators find any contributing factor tied to multiple parties, an injured person can still recover compensation in proportion to the other party’s share of fault.

Under New York law, you generally have three years from the date of the crash to file a personal injury claim (CPLR ยง 214). This crash occurred on June 27, 2026. That means your filing deadline is June 27, 2029. Three years sounds distant, but surveillance footage, toxicology records, and witness accounts disappear or become harder to obtain with each passing week.
