Three people left a Bronx intersection in ambulances on a Sunday morning. Each of them, and anyone who was inside those vehicles, deserves to know what caused this crash and who bears responsibility for it.

Car Accidents in the Bronx, New York

A three-vehicle crash at a signalized intersection raises questions about which driver entered the intersection improperly, whether any driver was impaired or distracted, and whether the road or signal design contributed. In New York, injured parties have legal rights against every driver whose negligence contributed to the crash, not just one.

  • Who may be liable: the driver or drivers whose actions caused the collision; and if road design or signal timing played a role, potentially the agency responsible for that intersection
  • What attorneys and investigators examine: dashcam footage, traffic signal data from the intersection at Decatur Avenue and East 207th Street, skid marks, the point of impact on each vehicle, and any surveillance footage from nearby businesses or P.S. 56
  • If any driver fled the scene, an uninsured motorist claim through the injured party’s own policy may provide a path to compensation even without identifying that driver
  • See a doctor now, even if your injuries seem manageable. Crash-related trauma, including concussion and internal injuries, often presents fully only in the hours or days after impact. A same-day medical record establishes the link to this crash
  • Do not speak with any other driver’s insurance company before consulting an attorney, and do not accept any settlement offers before the investigation concludes

Under New York law, you generally have three years from the date of the crash to file a personal injury claim (CPLR § 214). This crash occurred on July 26, 2026, placing the personal injury filing deadline at July 26, 2029.
