New Cassel, NY (September 14, 2026) – A 29-year-old man died after his motorcycle collided with an SUV making a left turn on Old Country Road in New Cassel on the afternoon of September 14, Nassau County police said.
Police said a 2024 Subaru was traveling westbound on Old Country Road around 12:30 p.m. when the driver made a left-hand turn into the path of a 2016 Kawasaki motorcycle operated by the man near Bond Street, according to Nassau County Homicide Squad detectives.
He suffered serious injuries at the scene and was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to Nassau police.
The 81-year-old driver of the Subaru was also transported to the hospital for treatment and is listed in stable condition. His identity has not been released.
Nassau County police say the investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
