The driver, Dorothy Bruns, hit into pedestrians on the crosswalk and caused the deaths of two children who were walking with their mothers. Two children were killed after a car hit them while they were crossing a street in Brooklyn. This happened in early March of 2018. This accident lead many transit advocates in the area to call for safer streets. They lead a protect outside of a YMCA where Mayor Bill de Blasio often works out.
