Details Released in Crash that Killed Officer Crossley
The State Police have now released more details concerning the fatal crash that led to the death of Officer Kevin Crossley earlier in this month. They say that he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident. They have also said that the driver of the other car has been ticketed for failing to yield the right of way.
Investigators have said that Crossley was killed when a pickup hot into his patrol car. This happened at the intersection Oriskany Boulevard and Westmoreland Street on April 11.
A witness and video evidence showed that Crossley was making a U-turn on Oriskany Boulevard. His speed at the time of the accident was around 74 miles per hour. He was driving that speed in pursuit of another car.
Crossley was taken to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Utica. He was pronounced dead there. The driver of the other car, Nicole Moshier-Harris, was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital in Utica.
The cause of Crossley’s death was multiple trauma-based injuries.
