There has been an update from police related to a crash that happened on Thursday, March 15. The police have been investigating a three-car accident that happened at around 11:30 a.m. on that day.

Poughkeepsie Town Police report that the accident happened on South Road/Route 9 north of Spring Road.

A 57-year-old man from Highland Mills was driving a 2013 Corvette while going north when he lost control and drove over the median. This caused him to collide with another vehicle, a 2014 Jeep Cherokee, that was being driven by a 54-year-old woman from Hyde Park.

Another vehicle was being driven by a 66-year-old man from Poughkeepsie. He was driving a 2011 Toyota Camry and his vehicle was struck by a tire that came from the Corvette.

Two of the people in the Corvette sustained injuries, and the driver’s injuries were said to be severe. The people in the other two vehicles were not seriously injured. This information came from the Poughkeepsie Town Police.
