Police have provided details of a massive chain-reaction collision on Staten Island that occurred on Sunday, June 19, at approximately 1:45 p.m states Arkady Frekhtman, one of the automobile accident lawyers at the F&A injury law firm in New York City.

Collision at Intersection

According to NBC 4 News, a motorist pulled into the intersection of Travis Avenue and Victory Boulevard, hit a number of vehicles and went airborne. The vehicle, identified as a Lexus, then struck a number of other vehicles. Ultimately, the wreck involved 10 vehicles.

A spokesperson for the NYPD later said the Lexus was in a another accident before the 10-vehicle wreck. The driver allegedly left that scene at excessive speeds before the massive pile up occurred.

Multiple Injuries and a Fatality

Emergency personnel transported the Lexus’ motorist and ten other people to area hospitals. Medical personnel reported her as critical. Authorities said there were other serious injuries as well. A 75-year-old man did not survive the crash.

Victims in vehicular accidents often seek compensation for a variety of losses and expenses, including certain medical costs, pain, suffering and lost wages. However, it is necessary to reasonably claim that negligent conduct lead to an injury to proceed with a civil lawsuit. In complex traffic crashes, a thorough and capable investigation often helps in determining fault.
