Man Killed in a Multi-Vehicle Accident Has Been Identified
Earlier in the year, an accident occurred that involved dozens of vehicles. This was a multi-vehicle accident that occurred on I-90 East. One person was confirmed dead. The victim was 64-year old Edward Torres. He is a resident of Elba, and he was pronounced dead after being taken to ECMC.
One other person was seriously injured because of the accident, and eleven other people had to be transported by ambulance to local hospitals.
According to emergency responders, the multi-vehicle car pile-up happened at about 2:30 p.m. on I-90 near the exit to Transit Road. This was a huge pileup. Lancaster Emergency Management reported that at least 75 vehicles were involved in this accident. But, according to the Erie County Executive’s Office, there were about 22 vehicles involved.
Most of the injuries were minor, and multiple extractions were needed. Many emergency responders came to the scene.
