Police Identify Keith A. Mixon Jr. as Man Who Died During Pursuit
The Buffalo Police Department has identified the man who died in a crash that occurred last Wednesday night. The death happened during a pursuit by the police officers of Buffalo of another man who was not the victim.
The man, Keith A. Mixon, Jr., was from Buffalo and was 26-years-old. He died when a vehicle driven by Kevon V. Walker, a 28-year-old man, crashed into Mount Zion Community Sanctuary. The incident happened at Genesee Street and Bissell Avenue, the police said.
Walker has been charged with second-degree manslaughter as well as criminally negligent homicide and other charges. Walker had a broken leg and head injuries because of what happened, and he is still in the hospital.
The incident started when someone approached a police officer at around 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday night, and this person told the police officer that someone had shot a gun towards them.
