Teen From Long Island Dead After Upstate Crash

A high school teenager from Long Island was killed in a car accident that happened outside of Albany. The victim was 17-year-old Anthony Pagano. He was driving southbound on I-87 when the accident happened. Anthony was a baseball player from St. Anthony’s High School in South Huntington, and he played varsity.

Police say his car burst into flames and that he was pronounced dead at a local hospital from blunt force trauma to the head.

He had a passenger in the car who was not injured.

The death has been particularly hard on Pagano’s teammates. According to the baseball coach, John Phelan, the team has been devastated by the loss.
