Update on Drunk Driver in Crash that Killed Two Near JFK Airport

This update is about one of the drunk drivers who caused the accident. This accident happened near the JFK airport.
A drunk driver involved in the accident, Zakiyyah Steward, was reportedly kept out of jail after she was involved in a burglary spree. A judge involved in sentencing her for her burglary spree made the decision to keep her out of jail.
Steward was indicted in March 2017 for breaking into a cafe where she used to work and stealing money from the safe. She stole from the cafe over four times and was facing up to 25 years in prison if convicted.
After the car accident, she was found with six joints on her. One other driver, Rahmel Watkins, was also charged with a DWI.
