Update: Victims Laid to Rest in Nassau Expressway Accident
Another update is available about the accident that happened on the Nassau Expressway. This accident resulted in the death of two people and injury to five other people.
Two people are facing charged connected to the accident that left two dead in Inwood. This accident happened early on Wednesday morning.
The two victims who were killed are being laid to rest.
We now also have the names of the two people who were arrested in connection with the case. Zakiyyah Steward, 25, is being charged with driving while impaired. She is being charged with multiples counts related to driving while impaired. Also, 35-year-old Rahmel Watkins is being charged with a DWI.
Five cars were involved in this violent crash. The crash lead to litter and debris all over the road, which meant investigators had a difficult task to understand and clean up this accident.
The two people who died were a driver and a passenger in a Nissan Altima that burst into flames from the impact of the crash. They have been identified as 21-year-old Yisroel Levin and 20-year-old Elisheva Basya Kaplan.
