Semi Truck Accident Attorney Discusses Massive Pileup on Interstate
A 50-year-old man from Bethpage, New York, was among the three individuals killed in a 64-vehicle pile-up on westbound Interstate 78 in during snow squalls in eastern Pennsylvania. Semi Trucks Involved A spokesman for the Pennsylvania State Police said that 12 commercial vehicles were in the massive wreck that occurred at about 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 13, at mile marker 7.5 in Bethel Township. A number of the commercial vehicles were tractor-trailers. One of the tractor-trailers struck a bus carrying the men’s basketball team from Penn State-Lehigh Valley, according to The Morning Call. An alleged hit-and-run bicycle accident involving a bicyclist and a Ryder truck resulted in a loss of life in Brooklyn. Bicycle Accident Details According to police, the incident occurred at approximately 5 p.m. on Tuesday, January 20. A 54-year-old male cyclist was traveling in Gravesend on Avenue U, not far from East 9th Street when he was allegedly struck by the truck. Authorities say that the truck driver did not remain on the scene. First responders transported the man to Kings County Hospital, according to the New York Post. However, he did not survive. Preliminary Investigation A preliminary investigation by a NYPD collision squad determined that the truck was westbound on Avenue U when it collided with the westbound cyclist. Authorities arrested a truck driver following a pedestrian accident in Manhattan on Friday, February 13. According to the New York Police Department the incident happened at about 10 a.m. at 11th Avenue and West 37th Street.
