Bronx, NY (September 12, 2026) – Six vehicles, including a United States Postal Service truck, collided on the Major Deegan Expressway near Exit 7 in the Highbridge section of the Bronx at approximately 4:15 a.m. on September 12, according to authorities.
The FDNY confirmed that three people were injured, two seriously, in the chain-reaction crash near the interchange connecting the Major Deegan to the Cross Bronx Expressway and the Alexander Hamilton Bridge. Emergency crews arrived to find several heavily damaged vehicles scattered across the roadway, and at least one vehicle sustained significant damage to both its front and rear ends.
All three injured people were transported to Lincoln Medical Center. Two suffered serious injuries, and a third was treated for less severe injuries.
Investigators had not determined a cause as of the latest available reports, and no arrests or charges have been announced.
