Update: GPS Did Not Warn bus Driver of Danger of Overpass

This story is an update on the bus crash we reported on earlier this week. The driver of the bus was from out of state. He was driving a charter bus full of high school students when he crashed into an overpass on a Long Island Parkway. He was using a non-commercial GPS device that didn’t let him know about the hazard. The accident was easily preventable, and it left two passengers seriously injured, the police said. This update is on a story reported on earlier about a bus crash. The crash led to injury to high school students who were on the bus returning from a spring break trip to Europe. The bus was carrying thirty-eight students and five chaperones; many of the students were from Huntington High School. The bus crashed into a Southern State Parkway overpass on Sunday night. A charter bus was carrying teenagers returning from a trip when the bus hit a bridge overpass on Long Island. The incident led to injury for six passengers.
