An Albany Man is Facing Charges After a Wrong-Way Crash

 

A man from Albany is facing charges after he caused a head-on collision. The collision happened while he was driving the wrong way on Saturday, March 17, on I-90 in Albany. This information comes from the state police. He is facing charges including DWI and vehicular assault.

Both drivers involved in the crash were taken to Albany Medical Center Hospital where they were both treated for serious injuries.

The man facing charges is Andrew M. Febbie, 21-years-old. He was driving his 2017 Honda heading eastbound in the westbound lane. This happened at about 5:13 p.m. He then collided with a 2016 Honda being driven by Astoria J. Elem, 21-years-old. This happened near mile marker 3.6.

Febbie had to have surgery for internal bleeding, and Elem suffered injuries to her pelvis and fractures to both of her legs.

The investigation by the State Police is still ongoing. The police say that both drivers were wearing seat belts when the accident happened.

Febbie will be charged in Albany City Court, the police say.
