Construction Worker Dies after Hit-and-Run
A construction worker is dead 8 months after a hit-and-run accident in Queens. The victim was Lorenzo Anderson. He was hit in Queens, and the driver is still on the loss. The driver of the car was filming a music video at the time. He was driving a Mercedes on 36th Avenue near 12th Street. The accident occurred at 10:45 p.m. The driver of the year then ditched the Mercedes. Anderson, the victim, died in a Bronx nursing home on March 19. His brother, Ricky Anderson, said, “We want justice for my brother, he didn’t deserve to go out like this, no one deserves to go out like this.” After the accident, police questioned a backseat passenger who was left behind in the car after the driver fled, but no one was charged. Construction Workers Honored on 10-Year Anniversary
In March, six construction workers who died in a fatal crane collapse were honored at a 10-year-anniversary ceremony in Midtown. The families and friends of the six construction workers gathered together to mark the anniversary of the event and to remember and honor their loved ones. This accident occurred 10 years ago when the workers were at a construction site. A reverend at the ceremony said, “We are here today not for how our brothers died, but more importantly how our brothers lived and how our brothers loved.” The memorial occurred at the site where the accident happened at around E. 51st St. in Midtown. Construction Worker in Brooklyn Rescued
In February, a rescue crew pulled a man to safety after a collapse happened at a construction site in Brooklyn. This happened in late February. The accident happened on the 4000 block of Rutland Road in the Wingate section at around 12:30 in the afternoon. According to the FDNY, a vacant 100-year-old building that was under deconstruction partially collapsed. The man was trapped under the debris, which buried him up to his waist. The man was trapped in the rubble under a beam. He was trapped for nearly an hour and a half. Officials say that the man was conscious when he was rescued. Teen From Long Island Dead After Upstate Crash
A high school teenager from Long Island was killed in a car accident that happened outside of Albany. The victim was 17-year-old Anthony Pagano.
