Discovery Of Human Remains In Burned Bronx Building

On Monday, Sept. 16, a demolition crew taking down what remained of a burned building in the Bronx made the sad and frightening discovery of three dead bodies. Authorities said the bodies were discovered around 2 p.m. as the crew was working on a building in the 60 block of Buchanan Place. The building had been gutted by fire a week earlier. Evidently, no one had any indication that there might be human remains in the wreckage. Investigators are still piecing together what happened, so at this point, it is not clear how the three people died. If the three people were killed in the fire that destroyed the building, though, their loved ones might consider a lawsuit against whomever owned the building.
