On March 7, 2018, a pedestrian was hit by an MTA bus. This occurrence happened on the corner of Springfield Boulevard and Jamaica Avenue. Route 22 Reopened After Crash
This story is very recent and happened on April 5, 2018. Route 22 in North Castle, New York has been reopened after a three-car crash that occurred there. This crash closed the road for about an hour on the morning of April 5th. The road was shut down as police and emergency responders were at the scene. In Oneida County, one person died in early March after two vehicles crashed into each other. This accident happened on a state Thruway, and this information comes from State Police. According to emergency responders, the accident happened in the eastbound lanes and was reported to have occurred at around 11:23 p.m. The crash happened in the town of Marcy which is just west of Route 49. There has been an update from police related to a crash that happened on Thursday, March 15. The police have been investigating a three-car accident that happened at around 11:30 a.m. on that day. Poughkeepsie Town Police report that the accident happened on South Road/Route 9 north of Spring Road. A 57-year-old man from Highland Mills was driving a 2013 Corvette while going north when he lost control and drove over the median. This caused him to collide with another vehicle, a 2014 Jeep Cherokee, that was being driven by a 54-year-old woman from Hyde Park. Another vehicle was being driven by a 66-year-old man from Poughkeepsie. He was driving a 2011 Toyota Camry and his vehicle was struck by a tire that came from the Corvette. On Wednesday, April 4, an 11-year-old girl was hit by a car. This incident happened in East Fishkill, NY. According to police, she was transported to Westchester Medical Center and had injuries which are unknown. She was struck by a vehicle on Wednesday afternoon while crossing Route 82.
