Another update on the large, multi-vehicle crash we have reported on already. This crash involved five vehicles and resulted in a pile-up near the JFK airport. This was a significant crash that claimed the lives of two people and caused serious injury to five more people. The vehicle that caught on fire was a sedan. The two people who were killed were in the sedan. They became trapped in the vehicle as it burst into flames. Emergency responders had to remove them from the vehicle, but they were not able to save them. Medics at the scene took the give other victims to nearby hospitals. Two other people at the scene refused to have medical attention. An Albany Man is Facing Charges After a Wrong-Way Crash
A man from Albany is facing charges after he caused a head-on collision. The collision happened while he was driving the wrong way on Saturday, March 17, on I-90 in Albany. This information comes from the state police. He is facing charges including DWI and vehicular assault. Both drivers involved in the crash were taken to Albany Medical Center Hospital where they were both treated for serious injuries. The man facing charges is Andrew M. Febbie, 21-years-old. He was driving his 2017 Honda heading eastbound in the westbound lane. This happened at about 5:13 p.m. He then collided with a 2016 Honda being driven by Astoria J. Elem, 21-years-old. This happened near mile marker 3.6. Febbie had to have surgery for internal bleeding, and Elem suffered injuries to her pelvis and fractures to both of her legs. In Bronx, Hutchinson Parkway Reopened
An accident that happened on April 4 in the Bronx led to Hutchinson Parkway being closed for a time. The NYPD have said that a New York City Department of Transportation worker was hit in the area at around 10:30 a.m. The man who was hit was George Staab, a 57-year-old resident of Long Island. He was taken to Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the hospital. The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene of the accident and was treated at the same hospital for minor injuries. The parkway was shut down by police at Bartow Avenue between Exits 5 and 4N. Update: 2 Arrested in Connection with Crash Near JFK
An update on a crash reported on yesterday has come in. The police say that two people have been arrested after a car crash that happened on Long Island. The crash occurred near the JFK airport and left two people dead and five other people injured. Police were inspecting a car that had been nearly completely burned out. This investigation happened on Wednesday morning, and they were looking at one of the five vehicles that was involved in the crash which happened at around 2 a.m. on the Nassau Expressway. A man from Potsdam has died after an accident that is reported to have happened while he was changing a tire on the job. This incident happened on Friday, March 9, 2018. The Canton police, as well as the Occupational Health and Safety Administration, have said they are looking into the death. The victim was 33-year-old Justin Miller.
