On April 13, the New York State Police from the Somers barracks was investigating a motor vehicle crash that happened on Interstate 684 near Exit 6. The preliminary report suggests that it happened at around 12:20 in the afternoon. Zhi R. Ding, age 71, of Queens, was using the median shoulder of the interstate to change a tire on his Jeep.
