Fire in Canandaigua Still Being Investigated
A barn located at Gibson Street in Canandaigua was marked as a complete loss after a structural fire that happened overnight. The fire was reported in the area of Wood and Gibson Streets at first. The barn was situated between many homes and was just a few blocks away from Sonnenberg Gardens, but, luckily no homes were damaged in the blaze. It also appears that no one was injured in the fire. Firefighters reported that the barn was located far enough from homes that there was not much risk to the neighboring buildings. People in the area reported hearing explosions, and the responders believe this was because of gas cans that were located in the barn. Firefighter Taken to Hospital After Fighting Seneca Falls Fire
A firefighter from Geneva had to be airlifted to the hospital on Monday night. He was taken to the hospital after suffering from a heart issue while fighting a house fire in Seneca County. This information comes from volunteer firefighters. Firefighters were taking on a blaze outside of the home located at 31 Moore Street in Border City. While doing so, the firefighter started having heart problems. This information came from the firefighters who keep the public notified through their Facebook page. A Mercy Flight took the firefighter to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. At this time, his condition is not known. In Staten Island, a two-vehicle crash happened at the intersection of Manor Road and Schmidts Lane in Castleton Corners left one pedestrian with severe injuries.
