Father of Yorkville Fire Victim Files Notice of Claim
The father of a girl who died in a house fire in Oneida County in January has filed a notice of claim against the village and the volunteer hose company. The father’s lawyer said on Tuesday that if a different dispatch call had been made that possibly Taylor Melanie and Heather, her mother, would be alive today. The fire happened on January 18 in Yorkville. Officials reported that the roof caved in while firefighters were fighting the fire. Taylor, who was 7 at the time, died in the blaze.
