Federal investigators met in Washington to discuss the causes of two train accidents that involved engineers who had undiagnosed sleep apnea. Both of these accidents happened in the New York City area. The National Transportation Safety Board is looking to release the probable causes of a September 2016 crash in Hoboken and January 2017 LIRR crash in Brooklyn. This story is an update on a story from earlier today. This is a new and developing story. Three people were hurt when a 20-foot section of scaffolding fell onto a Brooklyn sidewalk. Crews were working on taking apart large metal rods and panels at around 11 in the morning on Saturday when the scaffolding collapse near Brooklyn Borough Hall. On April 13, the New York State Police from the Somers barracks was investigating a motor vehicle crash that happened on Interstate 684 near Exit 6. The preliminary report suggests that it happened at around 12:20 in the afternoon. Zhi R. Ding, age 71, of Queens, was using the median shoulder of the interstate to change a tire on his Jeep. We are here with another update on the crash that injured at least eight people. This crash happened in Brooklyn on Friday night. The cops have arrested a drunk driver in connection with the incident. The incident left eight people hospitalized and at least two of those people had serious injuries. An MTA Bridges and Tunnels officer is going to trial after being indicted for allegedly striking a pedestrian while on duty and then dropping him off in Staten Island. His court date is set for May.
