NY Car Accident Law Firm Look Into Recent Car Crash Report

Washington, D.C. is the most dangerous of America’s 200 largest cities when it comes to how often residents get into car accidents, according to a new report. That same report found that Fort Collins, Colorado, is the safest city in the country.

The report we’re talking about, America’s Best Drivers, was prepared by Allstate Insurance with claims data from 2011 and 2012. As far as we can tell, Allstate used claims only from its own customers, and not those of other insurance companies, so the results of the study are not scientific. Even so, it presents an interesting slice of data that at least merits a closer look.

Washington, D.C., came in at the bottom of the list because residents there get into car accidents about once every 4.8 years. Nationwide, the average is once every 10 years. D.C. was followed by Baltimore; Providence, Rhode Island; Hialeah, Florida (close to Miami) and Glendale, California.

Perhaps not surprisingly, the safest cities on the list were much smaller. Fort Collins, Colorado, came in first, followed by Boise, Idaho; Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Brownsville, Texas (near Corpus Christi); and Madison, Wisconsin.
