School Bus Crash in Veteran Leads to One Fatality

In early March 2018, one man was killed in a car accident that involved a car colliding with a school bus. The accident happened around 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of state Route 13 and Sullivanville Road. This happened in the Town of Veteran. This information came from the New York State Police at Horseheads.

The person who died, Josephine Roemmelt, an 88-year-old from Horseheads, was driving on West Sullivanville Road and failed to stop at the stop sign.

Her SUV hit the bus, which was from the Horseheads Central School District. This information also comes from the state police. Roemmelt was pronounced dead by emergency responders at the scene.

There were no students on the bus at the time.
