Update: One dead and four NYC Firefighters Hurt in Trump Tower Fire

This story is an update on a story we reported on earlier this week.

This last weekend firefighters responded to a fire at Trump Tower in Manhattan. The president tweeted about the fire and commended the firefighters who were at the scene.

Firefighters responded Saturday evening to the fire that claimed the death of one man. The victim was Todd Brassner, a 67-year-old, who lived in the apartment. He was taken to a hospital where he died a short time later.

The investigation is still going on.

We have also learned that four firefighters were injured while fighting the fire which was blazing on the 50th floor. Two of these firefighters were burned. The injuries were not life-threatening, New York City Fire Department officials said.

Over 200 firefighters and emergency responders were called to the scene.

The upper floors of this building do not have sprinklers as New York City did not mandate them when the building was built.
